Dr. Haus Dermatology

frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral from my GP to make an appointment to see a Dermatologist?

No. You may ask your GP to make a private referral if you prefer, or you may refer yourself directly to the clinic for treatment.

There seems to be a lot of treatment options available, what if I do not know which treatment I want or if a procedure will work on me?

Most of our patients are unsure of the treatment that will be best suited for their skin condition. However provided you know what is worrying you about your skin, we will be able to advise you on the range of treatment options available. Together we will then create a personal treatment plan to ensure the best results for you.

Do these treatments have any side effects?

All medical procedures have side effects of some type. Some side effects may be minor, such as a small bruise or redness, while other side effects may mean that you must stay out of the sun for a prolonged period of time. We will advise you on the steps that you need to take following your treatment.

Do you sell any skin creams or other medications?

Our Dermatologists are able to write prescriptions, for prescription only medication, if this is considered necessary for your treatment. The clinic also stocks a selection of high quality dermatological skin care products.

Are treatments covered by the NHS or private insurance companies?

Dr Haus Dermatology is a private dermatologist clinic and treatments are not covered by the NHS. For a list of the Private Health Insurance Companies that we work with, please telephone us.

What is the cost of an appointment or treatment?

Charges apply for consultations and treatment. Treatment charges vary according to the procedure to be carried out. Full details of our charges are available on request.

What if I need to cancel an appointment or am running late?

If you need to change or cancel an appointment then please provide a minimum of 72 hours’ notice, otherwise a cancellation charge will apply. If you are running late for an appointment, then please telephone us as soon as you know that you will be late and let us know. We will always try to see patients who are genuinely running late, however, for anyone who is more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment you may be asked to rebook for another date.
